Let us help ArenaNet improve GW.COM

Websites are often an important part of getting someone started in the game. There have been great improvements over the last several years with GuildWars.com
This new and improved website offers a slick and pretty layout, however a problem plagues the website that may ruin it for some...how unorganized it is!

An example of the unorganizedness (is that a word?) are:

-> Clicking on any link in the flash menu will take you to a new page. On this new page it shows the links contained in the page and also the very same links on the side menu. Seems kind of redundant to me?
Perhaps a little not professional?

Now here are my suggestions:
1) Add detailed information for the Assassin and Ritualist
2) Add seperate sections for Guild Wars products: Prophecies and Factions and detailed features of both.
3) Add short clips of each profession in action! Is there a better way to show them off?
4) Add and update skill descriptions for all of the professions
5) Add an "In Development" page to tease the community with future improvements.
6) Update the ladder page to match the new layout
*Add detailed information on all of the guilds history (Who they played; Win/Loss; win ratio, etc...)
7) Add "Screenshot of the Day/Week" for community submitted screenshots. The UI must be turned off!
8) Website schedule page with information on what website content comes out each day (I.E. Wallpaper wednesday -> Wednesday)
9) Fansite spotlight: Choose a fansite and recognize them each week/month
10) Video recordings of matches taken in observer mode (Not just during the tournament)
11) Website poll! I know this is coming I just had to put it in here

12) Add Cantha to "The World"

If you can think of anything else, or want to expand upon what I have said post something!

Redundant = Good

Not everyone is using flash.

Nice ideas on everything else. BTW, should this be in sardelac?

The website had the left handed navigation before the flash banner and the banner added those extra buttons specifically and only for the front page.

However the left hand nav is an expanding system and certainly more organized than the banner since the banner has no drop down.

To tell you the truth, I'd just be happy if the north american version was cleaner like the EU version. I like the layout so much better, especially with the latest game updates there, and the wallpaper/GotW/Wallpaper featured.

Flash is nice and all, and it looks good. All I really want is to check game updates and for it to have the same detailed info that Taiwan, Korea, and Europe gets. Just cause we're Americans doesn't mean we're idiots or something. (ie, more graphics, less content)

I like all your ideas, enspecially the profesion videos and a page saying what they are going to update, not just a page of what they alredy did update.

I would like to see consistent content across all regions (ie Asian regions, Europe, America, etc.).

I would like to see the end of flash used or if it is used I would like to see it used sparingly in an older more compatible format. Nice eye candy that breaks easy across different environments. If I'm not in an environment that uses the latest flash the site totally breaks. Nice visuals can easily be done with css and javascript and not actionscript. proprietary = bad.

I like Lyra Songs suggestions about left hand menus.

I would also echo that a cleaner site is easier to navigate. This kind of goes with the overdone flash and poor organization.

The only problem I have with the European website is the giant flash screenshot thing in the middle of the menu! It just looks funny because it is so big compared to the menu.
